The Nantucket Boys & Girls Club’s 2010 Tim Russert Summer Groove will be held Saturday, August 21, 2010.

The entertainment features New England's most popular high energy dance band, Soul Sound Revue.

This premier event is held in the fields of the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club.  In the past 8 years, the event has grown to become a highlight of the summer social calendar by featuring a sparkling evening of fine food, fun music and incredible generosity with over 500 attendees.

Past performers include Booker T & the MG's, Jerry Lee Lewis, KC & the Sunshine Band, the Temptations and the Beach Boys.

The event begins at 6:00pm with a cocktail hour including specialty cocktails, passed appetizers, sushi bar, raw bar and much more. A sit down dinner is followed by the entertainment and dancing.

In 2008, Chuck Geschke and Maureen Hackett, Board Directors, introduced the Tim Russert Spirit of Hope Fund. The fund will keep Tim's spirit alive for the children of the island for years to come. In 2009, the tradition was continued with the Spirit of Hope Award.  The Award was presented to Lucile Hays by Maureen Orth for her endless dedication.
