The Nantucket Boys & Girls Club’s 2012 Tim Russert Summer Groove will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012 featuring the music of District 21.

This premier event is held on the fields of the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club.  In the past 9 years, the event has grown to become a highlight of the summer social calendar by featuring a sparkling evening of fine food, fun music and incredible generosity with over 500 attendees.

Past performers include Booker T & the MG's, Jerry Lee Lewis, KC & the Sunshine Band, the Temptations, the Beach Boys and Soul Sound Revue.

The event will begin at 6:00pm with a cocktail hour including specialty cocktails, passed appetizers, sushi bar, raw bar and much more. A sit down dinner is followed by the entertainment and dancing.

In 2008, Chuck Geschke and Maureen Hackett, Board Directors, introduced the Tim Russert Spirit of Hope Fund. The fund will keep Tim's spirit alive for the children of the island for years to come.

In 2009, the tradition was continued with the Spirit of Hope Award.  The award was presented to Lucile Hays in 2009, Maureen Hackett in 2010 and Chuck Geschke in 2011.
